Does anybody know where's Forster's tomb?
Thanks

Hi Dam,

There isn't any. E. M. Forster was cremated, and his ashes scattered over the rose-bed in the garden of his dear friends Bob and May Buckingham.

If you are interested in monuments: there is a very beautiful 'Only connect...'-sculpture at the entrance of the Forster Country, in Stevenage U.K.

May Buckingham's Account of EMFs Death

Posted by Heiko (editor) on 15:00:35 07/04/03

May Buckingham writes:

"On Sunday June 7th he died at 2.40 a.m. His ashes mingle with Robert's in a rose bed at the crematorium overlooking Warwick University."

May Buckingham, "Some Reminiscences," _E. M. Forster: A Human Exploration_, ed. G. K. Das and John Beer (London: Macmillan, 1979): 183-5, 185.

Francis King

That's rather curious, as e.g. Francis King states specifically that it was the garden of the Buckinghams, which I've read elsewhere as well. But one would surmise that May Buckingham would know best, since it's only nine years since when she wrote these reminiscences. It would be interesting to compare all the details of the different accounts.
