Forster and Human Rights

Posted by Sam A (89.243.211.236) on :16:16:19 19/09/08

I noticed that EM Forster uses the phrase "human rights" in 'The Longest Journey'.

He uses it in a very modern sense, as universal rights.

How common was the concept in literature before EM FOrster?

Thank You
